A thousand Welcomes to The Village Oak Tree for May 1st, 2024
I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill, and I am returning to your village again with another commentary on world affairs since the interview I had mentioned I was going to have for you this week had to be postponed until next week.
For those who have been regular visitors, you may know that I have been running a series about the game of empires as related to the United States and the west. This week, I have another segment to add to the list.
Watch the podcast before reading the summary of what the show is about and the references I have to back up my commentary.
I start off with a brief history of North America starting with the first Europeans to find its shores in the very late sixteenth century and early seventeenth century with the arrival of the Puritans. My history lesson goes on about why the colonists behaved as they did, according to a writer I found in Medium, Richard Lowenthal, whom I reference at the end of this newsletter.
I talk about the political history that has led the United States to the position it has found itself in today’s world. Not a lot of detail but enough to bring the audience along as we travel through the chaotic history of the original English colony and the subsequent evolvement of the United States into what we see on the world’s stage now.
I also engage in a game of ‘What If’ history with the audience. A bunch of what if scenarios if certain historical events had gone a much different way. Things like what if the first nations people had immediately wiped out the pilgrims as soon as they set foot on the beaches of North America? What if George Washington had been killed during the French and Indian War? And on through America’s history.
In other news, it seems that my podcasts are getting more attention from the internet bots and more people are starting to tune in. I would rather have controversial replies rather than none at all so I think all of this, bad or good is good in its own way. I say, bring it on. I am exercising my 1st amendment rights without breaking any laws that I am unaware of so let’s go!
I opened a TikTok account just for giggles to see how that might work out. It seems that they maybe skittish about uploaded content now after the latest fight with the U.S. congress. I uploaded my first 30 second video clip from today’s show and they are still thinking about it. Probably trying to see if they need to censor it. For any who might be interested, it is tiktok.com/@todomhnaill. I don’t expect to use this app much given the shadow surrounding it nowadays.
I am still posting replies all over the political spectrum and getting some attention there as well. People seem to notice my intuitive political posts, which may get me into trouble someday. That’s okay. We Irish rarely stand down for troubles.
I will be posting my interview next week with a young man from the west coast who writes under the pseudonym ASM Esquire. His little book, “Final Bible Story” is very controversial as he debunks the Christian Bible, the Jewish Torah and parts of the Quran. I think it will be a very interesting interview, unless you are a fundamentalist Christian, Jew or Muslim.

That’s all I have for everyone this week. I did add in my commercial at about the halfway point of the video. I have to get the word out about the radio stations I upload to. Just a reminder, in case you are interested in tuning in. The Village Oak Tree airs at 4 pm EST every Thursday on MBRadio. A veterans station that promotes veterans organizations and helpful info for veterans needing assistance with the VA or some other service.
I look forward to chatting with everyone through the week ahead as we celebrate Beltaine today. I will be back next week. Sláinte
