The Village Oak Tree

A Different style of Newsletter from now on

Céad Fáilte

A thousand Welcomes to The Village Oak Tree for June 26th, 2024

I am changing things up once again to accommodate my need to broadcast more to everyone who will listen about the world we now find ourselves in.

As noted in previous issues, Mitch, Frances Chiu and I will be running a weekend round table discussion about all of the things that matter to us that week. From personal domestic issues such as home repairs, to politics and the environment as it affects us where we live across the country. All three of us live in very different parts of the eastern United States so different things affect us in different ways based on where we live. These episodes can run long so be warned. Last weekend, Mitch and I got together and talked for two and a half hours. I promise not to do that again but we needed to air out the things that matter most to us. Now that we have that out of the way, we can tone it down a bit going forward.

I have started a weekly episode in my continuing series about the failing Empire of the United States and how that will affect is all personally very soon. I have marked these shows as restricted to adults due to language. I find related poetry and other content to read to people as part of the show.

These shows typically run about twenty to thirty minutes or so, including a reading of Michael Campi’s new story, The Priest (Formerly known as Bob), which I started reading at the end of these episodes to give everyone a sense of what’s coming. I will provide a link to the stories I read each week at the end of this newsletter. Click play at the top of this page to watch.

I also am conducting interviews, when I can, related to veterans issues, social justice, religion and politics when I can find a guest that offers a compelling story.

My last interview was on May 22nd but I have one scheduled for June 27th at four pm EDT. I set this one up for my radio slot at Military Broadcast Radio, that airs every Thursday at this time. I have a couple more I am setting up for future shows.

All of these shows are available on my podcast pages at YouTube and all of the audio podcast platforms across the world, such as Spotify. No matter where you live on this planet, if you have access to the internet or even just a cell phone, you can listen to all of this material I put out each week.

I am not, nor will I ever be, a famous broadcast journalist. I am too old to be tromping around the world chasing down stories anymore. I can leave that for the younger generations. I had enough adventures of my own back in the days of my active duty service.

I am content to watch independent news shows from around the world and take the important points from the shows and incorporate them into my own shows. Whether it is though our end of the week discussion or in my monologue on the Failing Empire of the United States.

Mark my words, that failure is coming soon. I have listened to a lot of experts on this subject to discount it anymore. Between supporting wars that were losing propositions to start with, to climate change and geopolitical economic changes happening everywhere around the world, the United States is being slowly choked off from the rest of the world and it will cost the average American citizen dearly within the next few years, no matter who is the next president.

My goal is to raise awareness to all of these changes that are coming. I believe forewarned is forearmed. I am preparing personally even now because what I see coming from all of these well renowned experts that make the rounds of all the podcasts these days, is one singular point. The economic crash is coming and there is nothing anyone can do about it anymore. No matter what the government is telling everyone.

And that is the other point. The government (Joe Biden and crew) is telling everyone how rosy the economy is. Which, if you listen to the independent experts, it’s all a lie. I work hard to find the right shows to listen to but the story is the same if you listen to the common thread. We the citizens are being lied to by the government in this runup to the election in November so we will vote for the democrats.

The other choice, as dictated by the corporations, is the republican, MAGA cult leader, who’s cronies want to do away with the government for the people, by the people, of the people. They want to turn the government into a white run, theocratic oligarchy. Alabama, Louisiana and Texas are good examples of what that might look like.

I am not here to tell anyone who to vote for. Ultimately, that is a personal choice or not, depending on where you live. Voter restrictions are going strong right now. Purging, gerrymandering, intimidation and so on.

I will be talking about this more as the U.S. moves closer to the elections in November. As a county poll worker, I am a little concerned for personal safety on November 5th. I have worked as a poll official for the last two years and I have seen some marginal voters turn up at the republican primaries. Now, imagine that in spades as this election will draw out a lot of marginal personalities or worse.

That is all I have for everyone this week. This is the new format of this newsletter now. I hope I have provided something for everyone to think about until next week when I will be back with another newsletter with more news from around the country and the world at large. Sláinte

Please like, subscribe and reply on the YouTube videos or audio version, if listening on a mobile device. This helps with spreading the word about what I am trying to do, which is to shout to the world about all of the bad things our governments are doing to us.

As I say good bye this week, I wish to leave you with this Irish blessing as you go about your day. “May your hand always be stretched out in friendship and never in want” Slán go fóill.
